Arugam Bay

What is most appealing about Arugam Narrows is its perfect oceanside. The white sandy ocean side is wonderful to quiet around lethargically swinging on a lounger. In any case, Arugam Narrows which is located around 342 kms east of Colombo isn’t simply an area with a pleasant ocean side. It is generally renowned for surfing and is home to various quality surf breaks. Surfers from all over the world have been coming to this location, especially after the war, to ride the big waves and discover this hidden paradise.

The most renowned point break is ‘Central matter’. Some of Arugam Bay’s most well-known point breaks include Pottuvil Point, Whiskey Point, Elephant Rock, and Crocodile Rock—aptly named for its resemblance to a crocodile basking in the rays of the setting sun. If you manage to walk further down the coast line, you might even be able to spot herds of wild elephants at night. June and August are the greatest months to visit Arugam Sound. You can take surfing classes for a reasonable price even if you have never ridden a board before.
