Kalpitiya
The town of Kalpitiya is surrounded by beaches and natural areas. Kalpitiya covers an all out area of 16.73 kmĀ²; the city has 14 islands with the fundamental ones being Baththalangunduwa, Palliyawatta, Uchchamunai, Periya Arichchalai, and Kakativu and so on. One of Sri Lanka’s upcoming tourist destinations, Kalpitiya offers activities like kite surfing, surfing, and watching whales, among others.

The name of the city likewise has a long history of derivation as it is derived from the Tamil word ‘Kal’ and ‘Pattu’ significance stone and height. The town was recently known as Arasadi, and during the provincial time, it was prominently known as Calpentyn.
